About Faculty of Product Design and Environment
The Faculty of Product Design and Environment was established by bringing together members from the Product Design and Robotics Department and from the Chemistry Department of Transilvania University, in 2010. The Product Design, Mechatronics and Environment Department was formed within the Faculty of Product Design and Environment by merging three teams from the Product Design and Robotics Department, the Chemistry Department and the Fine Mechanics and Mechatronics Department in 2011, by restructuring the University and applying the National Education Law no. 1 of 2011.
The three teams developed two interdisciplinary research centres, focused on the integrated design (design, development, optimization and implementation) of high-tech products, with low impact on the environment, namely the Scientific Research Centre for Renewable Energy Systems and Recycling and the Research Centre for Advanced Mechatronic Systems.
